DESCRIPTION: 3d red, laid paper tied to cover. Fully Dated 'Toronto, Canada' front cancel (May 26, 1851) & back stamp 'Barrie' (May 27, 1851). Stamp release date was April 23, 1851 and ERD is May 1, 1851. Stamp has 3-1/2 clear margins and is just slightly cut into frame line at UL. A very early Canadian Pence cover with clear historical significance. *Cover has a tear and tape staining at bottom.
