DESCRIPTION: 2 unlisted WAR TAX handstamps on 1c green & 2c carmine Admirals. According to Bileski (note accompanying), the 1c green H/S was from the Calder collection and Calder's handwriting is on the piece next to the stamp (we cannot prove this). Both stamps have fully dated CDS cancels and are the first we've seen in this style of H/S. Back on the market after 30 years. Very interesting items requiring further study.
